Frequently Asked Questions

How does CurbAlarm read parking signs?

CurbAlarm uses AI and OCR to turn parking signs into plain-English rules. When you are online, sign images may be processed through our server in real time for higher accuracy. When you are offline, on-device OCR fallback can still help interpret the sign.

Is CurbAlarm accurate?

CurbAlarm provides its best interpretation of signs, curb rules, and schedules, but results should always be reviewed. After scanning, you can edit parsed rules before setting an alarm. Always verify against the actual sign and local rules.

What does the parking copilot do?

CurbAlarm helps with the full parking moment: detect when you park, scan the sign, explain the rule, alert before restrictions, and map nearby curb rules. You can also use manual alarms, meter timers, garages, and reports when the situation needs it.

How do I restore my purchases?

Open CurbAlarm → Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. This will check your Apple ID for any active subscriptions and restore your premium access.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → CurbAlarm → Cancel Subscription. You will retain access until the end of your current billing period.

How do I delete my account?

If you signed in with Apple, go to CurbAlarm → Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your sign-in data from the device and signs you out. Your alarms and parking rules remain on the device.

You can also revoke access from your device: Settings → Apple ID → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → CurbAlarm → Stop Using Apple ID.

How do I delete all my data?

Most CurbAlarm app data is stored locally on your device. To delete local data, delete the CurbAlarm app from your device. If you signed in with Apple or contributed map data, use the in-app account deletion flow or contact support for help removing server-side records tied to your account or contribution.

What permissions does CurbAlarm need?

  • Camera — required to scan parking signs. You can revoke this in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Notifications — required to send alarm reminders. You can customize or disable notifications in iOS Settings.
  • Location — used for parked-spot detection, nearby map rules, and parking reminders. You can revoke this in iOS Settings at any time.

Does CurbAlarm use my location?

Yes. Location powers parked-spot detection, nearby rule lookup, and map context. CurbAlarm does not use your location for advertising.
