Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the CurbAlarm mobile application (“the App”) operated by Yuhua Wu (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using CurbAlarm, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

CurbAlarm is a parking sign reader and alarm scheduling utility for iOS. The App uses artificial intelligence (powered by OpenAI) and on-device optical character recognition (OCR) to interpret parking sign text and helps you set recurring local alarms based on parsed rules. When your device is online, sign images are sent to our server for AI-powered interpretation. When offline, interpretation is performed entirely on-device.

2. No Guarantee of Accuracy

CurbAlarm uses artificial intelligence to interpret parking signs. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated or OCR-generated interpretations. Parking regulations vary by jurisdiction and can change without notice. You are solely responsible for verifying parking rules and obeying all posted signs. CurbAlarm shall not be liable for any fines, penalties, or towing fees resulting from use of the App.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

CurbAlarm offers optional premium subscriptions:

  • Free tier — limited features (2 active parking spots, basic pre-alert)
  • Premium — weekly ($1.99/week), monthly ($5.99/month), or annual ($29.99/year) auto-renewing subscriptions

All subscriptions are managed and billed through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

A 7-day free trial may be offered for new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged.

4. Accounts

CurbAlarm works without an account. You may optionally sign in with Apple to enable subscription portability across devices. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID credentials.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
  • Use automated means to access or interact with the App
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App or any part of it

6. Intellectual Property

CurbAlarm and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Yuhua Wu and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT PARKING SIGN INTERPRETATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PARKING TICKETS, TOWING FEES, OR FINES RESULTING FROM RELIANCE ON THE APP’S INTERPRETATIONS.

9. Account Deletion

If you have signed in with Apple, you can delete your account at any time within the App under Settings → Account → Delete Account. This revokes the App’s access to your Apple ID credentials and removes all local account data.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.

12. Apple Licensed Application EULA

This App is licensed to you under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA shall govern.
